I miss it already. W00t! to 3 days off. I have already marked off my work calendar with the rest of the holidays for the year. I must wait another month before getting another day to fritter away. And sadly, I did fritter. Other than the dishes, I can't think of one constructive thing I did this weekend. Well I did run to the store too, but that was just to get hot dogs to grill on the foreman. No fireworks were witnessed and no sparklers were lit. It was a ho-hum day for the most part. The annual hot dogs were the hit really. But as a co-worker has often said to me, sometimes doing nothing is the best thing to do on the weekend.

On another note, 2 WEEKS until we close on the condo. The countdown has begun without a single box being packed. The pipe is still busted, but my realtor has high hopes that a plumber may come out to fix it this week.

In other news... my headphones have broken. This is a big, big deal to me. I listen to the ol' ipod ALL DAY! I am one with the ipod. I bought some new ones, but they fit funny in my ear. I may have to make the pilgrimage to Circuit City to get the Sony ones that I've come to love so much. It's an unholy love, in that these are the 4th pair to break on me. About every 6 months I have to rebuy them. It's an evil conspiracy really. However, as this time once again proves, when I try out a different pair, I don't like them. So it's back to ol' faithful tomorrow.logoANNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10470721081118330958noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19833708.post-17775866677558335932008-06-23T17:37:00.002-04:002008-06-23T17:45:17.139-04:00the power of advertisingOkay, I think I need to start advertising this wretched blog as it seems I have no traffic. I know this because no one is answering the quiz... which! was a feature I was very excited to add recently. First and foremost I will need a PR staff of at least 3. A small upstart of a company - a PR boutique - will suit my needs. I think starting regionally will be a waste of time. So let's go nationally and win over the American audience before turning global. Sadly it will take a few weeks to 1) find the perfect PR upstart and 2) solidify the new direction the content the website will have to adopt.

While we wait of the PR guys to work on their media blitz campaign, I will try to pepper phrases into my blog as to increase it's hits. I need people to accidentally trip over me while doing google searches and such. Hmm... peppering might be inefficient. I'll try this instead...

webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD webMD
Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe Adobe
free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free free
tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial tutorial
Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Pepsi Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke PepsiCoke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Sprite Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke Coke

Let's see if that helpslogoANNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10470721081118330958noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19833708.post-90930259976801397082008-06-11T12:51:00.005-04:002008-06-11T13:17:01.899-04:00the end is nighCrap. If you believe the national news, it's the end of the world out there people - look alive. Tornadoes and floods - it's raining everything but oil out there guys. And while skies filled with free oil may seem like a blessing at first glance, in big picture terms it's a lot of cleanup. I am trying not to let the end of the world get me down, but it's a tough struggle.

On smaller scale my life is in upheaval. (As if you couldn't tell from all the doom and gloom above.) One of our cars was recently hit and totaled. BUT this is good news! Because while we are down a car, we actually managed to make money on this deal which is the good news. But the bad news *shakes head solemnly* is that all the profit will go into the new condo purchase... WHICH is still in the air due to a busted water pipe which everyone assures is 1) common and 2) simple to fix. *sighs* BUT the condo deal is still in the works. There is still plenty to go wrong and plenty of time for implode. Of course with the gas line yet to be checked, I shouldn't go around tempting fate by making implode/explode jokes. Not wise to tick of the fates... *mumbles "skanks" under her breath in an attempt to make Bill chuckle*

So to sum up:
• Car totaled - boo
• Got insurance check - yeah
• Condo bid accepted - yeah
• Inspection incomplete due to busted pipe - boo
• Must hold in limbo while I wait to find out how busted pipe is is fixed - boo
• tornadoes - boo
• floods - boo
• gas prices - boo
• end of the world - yeah!?logoANNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10470721081118330958noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19833708.post-4194551481052312472008-05-09T12:33:00.003-04:002008-05-09T12:43:51.968-04:00down and out coldIt's been a rough week. I've been ill. (Please send money in lieu of flowers and cards.) I've either had a weak flu or a strong cold. I'm not sure which. The only thing I am sure of is that it made me very, very, very tired and muddled my brain much more than usual. Although I have been sick since Monday, I have trudged into work for half the week because 1) they can't live without me and 2) I don't want to let them think they ever could live without me. Not to mention the fact that I believe sick days should be stored up in case I get cancer. You never know, and it's best to be prepared.

I'm back in the saddle again today. While my head feels much clearer, I've been coughing a lot. The only good thing about being sick was I got a chance (at least one night this week) to play GTAIV. (Grand Theft Auto IV for those of you not in the know.) I am now utterly addicted. It truly is an awesome game, and I am once again caught up in the throws of being a bad apple in a big a city. I'm looking forward to going home tonight and starting up the 'ol xbox and taking a spin around Liberty City.

Let us not forget it's mother's day this weekend. I plan to do the annual pilgrimage to the see the moms. While I'm looking forward to seeing everyone, I hope I can keep my energy levels up for the hanging with the family. Secretly, I think I'd rather plant myself on the couch and continue my GTA crime sprees, but it's mother's day and they only get one lousy day after all...logoANNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10470721081118330958noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19833708.post-30940344114999534242008-05-01T12:54:00.005-04:002008-05-01T13:09:51.131-04:00a g.d. awardI am a winner.

No Ed didn't show up at my house with one of those giant checks... if only! But I can now say I am an award winning graphic designer. At the very least I can say that I am part of an award winning department. Yesterday at a luncheon over chicken and rolls, my team won an award for the research report I designed. Since we only entered 3 items into the contest, it was quite a long shot that we'd win. But, we got lucky. We took first place in the Annual Report (Non-Profit) category. It was quite an honor. We were up against agencies and larger organizations, and yet our little squad came up tops.

Luckily, we convinced the boss lady to do the walk up to the podium. The mere thought of getting up in front of a ballroom full of people would have made me quite nervous. Fear not avid reader, I did not miss my Oscar moment. There were no rushed words of thanks with an awkward swell of exit music. The acceptees simply walked up and grabbed the piece of fancy plastic and sat down. Now the best part of the award is having it displayed in my cube. (Its in mine because that is where we store the annual reports and in order to display the award next to the award winning report, it must therefore be stored in my cube. Plus I have a double-wide cube which allows for the crowds of lookie-loos.) I may put up some little velvet ropes or something for the crowd control...

Here's a pic of the report and the award. Feel free to bask in the greatness...
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_aOhSi96mX_Y/SBn5OMXhaWI/AAAAAAAAADc/-Y76Yrh-7Gk/s400/IMG_0766.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5195457667381946722" />logoANNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10470721081118330958noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19833708.post-47669817266278838902008-04-17T17:10:00.001-04:002008-04-17T17:15:18.727-04:00two steps back, one small step forward*Sobs* My trusty steed has failed me. My beloved workhorse laid down and died yesterday. I am of course referring to my dual-processor G5 silver, Mac tower. It died yesterday. *sobs uncontrollably now* I loved that machine. It was the computer of my designer dreams – lightening fast and able to run every program at the same time with no loss of function. Adobe filters on poster-sized images were no big deal. Oh, how I will miss those days. My defunct silver stead is now sitting behind my chair on the floor of cube. It looks so sad. It waits in limbo. If its warranty is still good, a repair is in its future. If it isn’t under warranty, *rivers of tears here* then it will most likely be replaced with a less powerful machine. According to the computer guy, spending 4 grand on a new machine may not be in the cards. BUT HE DOESN’T UNDERSTAND!!! I can’t go back. Not now, not ever. I’ve been to the promised land. I’ve seen the face of god, spoke his name and shook his hand. There is no going back.

To console me and to get me through these tough times, I’ve finally been given my laptop whose coming was foretold weeks ago. It’s a nice little laptop. PowerBook G4. Nothing awesome, but a good little machine for taking home and doing a little work. So that’s a good thing, right? It’s better than nothing. It’ll be fine. Yeah, it’ll be fine. Yeah, it’s gotta be fine. I’m sure the G5 is under warranty…. It has to be, right? It’s not that old… and the extended warranty would certainly be worth it on a machine that expensive, right? Surely someone in purchasing saw this day coming and prepared for the worst. I’ve just got to stay optimistic. Hmmm, I wish I were better at that sort of thing though…logoANNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10470721081118330958noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19833708.post-17080963092529344302008-04-08T18:02:00.005-04:002008-04-08T18:09:34.489-04:00it dawns a new dayIt's been nearly a year. I'm sure my fan base has all but dried-up and rightfully so. But it's time to dust off the 'ol blog, and give it another try. I was reading some of my past blogs, and - if I may say so myself - I am hilarious. I'm sure my written genius will forgive my long sabbatical. But who am I kidding? A mass advertising campaign will have to begin. Every good designer knows that good advertising is way more valuable than actual content. It's like the second thing they teach you in school. (The first is always use spell check.)

So this is the first of the new! A new chapter! A fresh start! A ray of light pierces the darkness and the universe begins anew! Exciting stuff, eh?! Oh yeah, this is just a taste, baby. Hang in there.. it'll get even better! (Use a lot of exclamation points is the third thing they teach as it gets you all excited! Can you feel it?!)

Watch your emails and blog posts. So done. Quite done. Yeah! I'm done.

I will graduate from college Sunday. It's weird - everyone asks me how I "feel." Truthfully, I don' know how to feel about being done. There is a sense of relief and an odd absence of guilt. But other than that, it just feels like I have too much free time. I watched tv for like 5 hours straight yesterday. It was sad really.

My mind has really begun to worry about not having a job yet. I've put out a pathetic amount of resumes, but I have yet to do the big push. I'm having my resume reviewed today by career services. So hopefully tonight I can put out more resumes. I guess I feel like I'm in limbo. Waiting. In the mean time, I'm working my part-time job this week. Putting in like 36 hours this week. It feels like a lot, but I know it's not really.

Things to do:
• iron out graduation robe since it looks like it's safe to take it out of the bag now
• clean the house for graduation guests
• do laundry
• start working out again
• find a full-time job to support me and my husband - hopefully in a better lifestlye than I've become accustomedlogoANNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10470721081118330958noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19833708.post-33264409536839372632007-05-25T00:51:00.000-04:002007-05-25T00:53:07.331-04:00graduationI havent' finished yet, but graduation is June 10th.

Anyone who wants to attend is welcome. It is hopefully my last first week. The weather has been so lovely, and so far I have enjoyed walking around campus again.

My week hit a snag yesterday though. I went to my World Urbanization course offered by the Geography department which fulfulled some silly Contemporary Issues credit that I need to graduate. This class was a disaster. It was not what I thought it was going to be about. This 70 year old man comes in the room speaking softly with a thick Russian accent and begins to discuss Geography as a mathmatical logic based system. He put up a x,y graph and said Pr=P1/R, but I had no idea what this meant since I couldn't really hear him. I tried to take notes but the lecture was disjointed and I couldn't tell what was important.

Several people got up and left the room within the first 20 minutes. I stuck it out for an hour before I decided this just wasn't for me. I ended up leaving too which was difficult since the door made a terrible slam whenever someone used it. But I bucked up the courage and reminded myself I was usually not so rude as to do this to a prof, and I left the room. I immediately found a computer and began looking up alternate classes.

I decided on an Anthropology course in technology and cultural development. It will be a lot more work with a term paper at the end, but at least I think I'll show up to this class. It's at 8:30 in the morning which I haven't done since I was freshman, but I really didn't have a ton of options on the second day of classes. An 8:30 my in my last quarter... I must be nuts!logoANNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10470721081118330958noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19833708.post-53889271197818418652007-03-22T12:51:00.000-04:002007-03-22T12:57:23.022-04:00she did it and I helpedHe's here! I'm on break now, but I still dragged my butt into work today. I had thought I was going to continue with this awful assignment that made the previous work day quite long and tedious. However, I was delightfully surprised to find my task was reassigned to someone else. Whoo! Hoo!

So I got to work on fun stuff today instead. The first is a flyer for a music concert. It's not too wild since it's a classical show put on by music students, but since it is meant to appeal to students between the ages of 12 and 18, I thought I'd try to make it fun. The second is a poster I made for the office. March is National Women's History Month. (Yeah, I didn't know we had a month either...) It's really big. I think if I remember correctly it's like 3.5' by 5.5'.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_aOhSi96mX_Y/RfodUFjRXPI/AAAAAAAAAAY/a2A3dSh2rqc/s200/music.gif" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5042374963719396594" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_aOhSi96mX_Y/RfodUljRXQI/AAAAAAAAAAg/RJj48Okyt1g/s200/womens-history.gif" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5042374972309331202" />logoANNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10470721081118330958noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19833708.post-78323462419902580772007-03-02T11:46:00.000-05:002007-03-02T12:04:30.798-05:00french vacationI did it! I did it! I finally finished all the French work I had for the quarter. In 2 weeks when I start a new quarter the bar will be moved again, but for now, I'm done. I get a nice little vacation from all that work.

I've been working like a crazy person the last few weeks and it is getting close to paying off. With all the French work done, I can concentrate on my final art quilt. (VJ - it's os my grandma, mom and great aunt. I am reusing images from my photo class last year.) It's a sad project for me since it features my great aunt who passed away this summer. The quilt is due Monday so I have a lot of work do on it.

After that I won't have anything until 10 days later when I have my last final! sweetness.......logoANNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10470721081118330958noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19833708.post-80882190096539355142007-02-26T11:33:00.000-05:002007-02-26T11:45:03.647-05:00light at the end of the tunnelThis past week was very busy for me. This next week is pretty full, but only with a few things that will need my concentration the most. I was able to cross a ton of things off my list. After my exam today, I will really only need to focus on two projects this week.

One: I am making a sort of quilt for my final photoshop project. I have the file ready to go, but now I need to break it up into squares which I will print on transfer paper. Then iron that onto fabric and sew the whole thing together. The sewing shouldn't be too bad... If I can't iron onto a single peice of fabric, I'll break it up into 4 large squares and then use the sewing machine to make it look like it's a bunch more squares than it actually is. I'll take a photo at the end to show you. This is due on Monday.

Two: I have finished reading the French play I've been working on. I have to write 3 more compositions about it. (I've already written 5.) I then need to study and get ready for a test over the play next week. It'd be nice to take the test this week, but I can take it as late as Wednesday next week.

Things I accomplished (in no particular order):
• laundry
• dishes
• read the play
• wrote 5 compositions on play
• studied for comm exam
• bought shower gift
• wrapped shower gift
• went to actual shower (since I had to allow time for this, I count it as a thing to do)
• began work and planned out final photoshop final
• made additional French appointments for next week
• filled out the husband's fafsa application for next year (yes, for some reason, I am in charge of this)logoANNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10470721081118330958noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19833708.post-16100441832050662032007-02-19T13:32:00.000-05:002007-02-19T13:36:01.902-05:00school updateThis should be an interesting week...

I just handed in my third photoshop assigment. (Seen below) it was a mapping project.

I have a communications exam on Wednesday, and before the end of the week I need to take a French exam. I really should have worked more on this stuff last week. But, I procrastinated, of course. I also need to find time to do some laundry, clean the kitchen, and buy a baby shower present.

Ugh. Wish me luck.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_aOhSi96mX_Y/Rdnt7Vpvu2I/AAAAAAAAAAM/zp3P20aPI80/s200/thumb.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5033315662243543906" />logoANNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10470721081118330958noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19833708.post-1171302511784164752007-02-12T12:44:00.000-05:002007-02-12T12:48:31.800-05:00eye candyI spent a nice little weekend with the significant other. I just figured it was about time I did an update. After all, Librarian has been to Seattle, Quiltbug is rounding home on a major project and neonapple has set up her nursery. I'm feeling rather unaccomplished. I've just been pluggin' away at school. I had a test on Monday. (exciting...) I took a French test today, and I have the oral tomorrow. (I know you guys never get sick of hearing me complain about French...) And I have an art project due on Monday which I am 63% done with. I'm keeping up I suppose.

I'm still waiting to hear if my academic plan has been accepted. I could get an email letting me know any day now, but I won't start to worry until the middle of next week.

So basically I'm scraping the bottom of the bloggin' barrel here people. Blogs, I guess, are meant for people with more exciting lives than me. I'll try tomorrow to put up some pics of stuff I'm doing for work or something tomorrow. I don't have any images to post here on the library's computer.

So keep your fingers crossed my next blog will have actual content...logoANNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10470721081118330958noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19833708.post-1169595906534202372007-01-23T18:37:00.000-05:002007-01-23T18:45:06.550-05:00not a good idea...I drove to work today. I'm not sure if I like it or not. I mean, it gets me to work in the morning fast. So that is good. But, I usually have to ride a bus back to the car at the end of the day. Which seems redundant to me. I could just take a bus home instead of the two-legged journey of bus then car. Anyway, I digress...

So I am taking the bus to my car. It's after 6 pm. (I'd just finished taking the first half of a french test. I got a 93% but I still have the oral on Thursday. Again, I digress...) I'm on the bus on the way back to my car. Well, my mind begins to wander, and I miss my stop. So I get off a the next one. But! this means I now must walk the length of the parking lot to get back to my car. This is about the length of two football fields.... in the dark... by myself. This just screams after school special doesn't it? I had to do it though, or else it would have been 30 minutes to ride the bus back around the horn. Besides it was only 6 pm and not midnight. Right?

Just so you know I'm fine. Nothing to report at all. I need to be more careful so that doesn't happen again...logoANNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10470721081118330958noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19833708.post-1169054965333211982007-01-17T12:24:00.000-05:002007-01-17T12:29:25.350-05:00finalize your syllabus peopleSo I spent all day on Monday working on my homework. I got a lot done and was feeling good about myself. Then I went to hand it in (online) only to find out the instructor changed the due date to next week. While normally I would have appreciated any extra time I could get... I'd finished the darn thing. So I was left sitting on my hands. If I'd know it wasn't going to be due, I'd have worked on my French instead. So I'm behind in French and ahead in art.

Below are the images I made for class. They are meant to satire the advertising/marketing of the pharmaceutical industry. The other student assistants are gone for the break. So it's just me. I'm not good at socializing. I don't' want to go down their again... Well, I forced myself to go to the auditorium where they are having this shin-dig, but there was such a long line for the food... I bailed and headed back for my desk. All I want is get my free food and hide out at my desk for a while. Is that so much to ask? I wish I were one of those gregarious, outgoing people that don't need a month to get comfortable with people. Even people I know a little make me nervous. Plus, I hate that awkward small talk junk. I'm not good at it anyways. Okay, here I go for attempt 2 to get some food... wish me luck.

happy holidays.logoANNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10470721081118330958noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19833708.post-1164051284324164222006-11-20T14:20:00.000-05:002006-11-20T14:34:44.360-05:00reliefWhat a relief.

I went into this past weekend in a terrible mood. Due to some sort of mix up and a misunderstanding, I thought I was totally screwed over in French course. I missed a couple of appointments with the French department. (I'm taking a French course where you make one-on-one appointments instead of attending a regularly scheduled class.) Now I knew I'd missed these 2 appointments, but it was the first ones I'd ever missed and you are only penalized if you miss a total of 4. Due to some mix up, the department thought I'd missed 2 previously and those plus the 2 I actually missed brought me to 4. So they dropped all my appointments for the next two weeks. Well, school is only in session for another two weeks! I'd would be near to impossible to get all my work done. With no appointments, I'd have to wait around their offices in hopes that someone wouldn't show up for an appointment. With the end of the quarter looming this seemed unlikely to me. Then as if that weren't bad enough... I got a friendly reminder email from the department reminding me that all my French work had to be completed by Wednesday - a week and a half early! Now, I'd sat down with one of the grad students and made out a schedule of the quarter for myself and at no time did she mention this deadline. Well, I was in quite a snit by Friday. If I had to pass two French tests by Wednesday (with no appointments!) I would have to get cracking. I locked myself in the library Friday night, but things looked bleak.

Luckily on Saturday afternoon, the assistant director of the French department responded to my frantic emails and told me not to worry. He fixed it so I could make appointments again and told me the Wednesday deadline would not apply to me. Whew! I am so relieved that he could get back to me over the weekend. Everything is right with the world again.

The only down side is that I have to reschedule new appointments for myself. My previous appointments where all given away during the one day I was without my privilege. This puts me a little behind scheduled, but I am in much better shape now than I was on Friday!logoANNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10470721081118330958noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19833708.post-1163697302633942002006-11-16T12:05:00.000-05:002006-11-16T12:15:02.670-05:00dead end internet? The internet is like one big, long, never-ending magazine. I'm not all that crazy about magazines. It's a lot of disposable information which tends to either be too trivial to remember or so timely it's outdated in a month. I don't want to bash too hard though; the internet is a wonderful source of information. It is my yellow pages, my movie directory and the host of most of my correspondence. It provides up the minute accurate information about goods and services. BUT when I sit down at the computer and star at the keyboard, I don't know where to go. I sort of click my tongue, my eyes roll around the perimeter of the screen, then I go and check my email. How is it that people (by this I mean my husband) can spend hours on the thing? What is there to do?

I am going to ask you guys to please let me know your favorite(s) website(s) that you would think I'd be interested in...

I'll go first, this one was given to me by Quiltbug's husband....

http://www.angryalien.com/logoANNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10470721081118330958noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19833708.post-1163036514870492002006-11-08T20:34:00.000-05:002006-11-08T20:41:54.893-05:00tricky lightingIt's been a busy week. For once I was able to back-burner French which is good because I've been working a lot on my 3-d assignment this week. I had to create an interior space in Maya. I have attached pictures below. The lighting is bad because I didn't know what I was doing, but I'm proud of it. The teacher really liked it. I made a movie moving through the room, but it was like 120mb file - a bit large for a blog. So you are stuck with the stand alone picks. I'm toying with the idea of redoing the lighting and then trying to render it out in MUCH higher detail, but of course, it will take much LONGER and be much BIGGER files. We'll see if I have time.

I'm thinking about skipping my class tomorrow.
